Anxiety

TheGodBlog.com: Anxiety

I found this to be a great analogy. Trust is oil. Even working at a job that involves such things, I would’ve never thought of that. If you don’t read this blog (TheGodBlog) often, you’re doing yourself a great disservice.

Anyway, with life rushing all around us, it’s hard not to worry about things. Sometime we get anxious over even the silliest of things. However, we have to remember that God cares for us, and won’t let us down, we have to have the oil of trust.

Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear. 12:23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. 12:24 Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!

The Battle against the “Evils” of “Arianism”

While browsing a website, I came across an article on a Catholic document on “Arianism.” I doubted if it was actually from the Catholic church, so I Googled some of the phrases and found the document on a Catholic site, which is proof enough to me.

The stuff in here is astounding. I used to have doubts on whether the trinity was real or not, and if I really was a heretic for not accepting it. Now those doubts are completely gone. This document unintentionally admits the true origins of the trinity doctrine.

The Jews proposed a supreme God who created by His word. It was an idea of a mediating “Word or Wisdom – the Word which is pronounced, the Wisdom which is created – whereby the Father communicated Himself to man and took possession of him (Guitton 1965, 81).” The Greeks could not see how a finite and changeable world could come from an eternal and changeless God. They proposed the idea of a “mediating Intelligence or even Word, a first emanation of the first principle which reduced the distance between God and the world (Guitton 1965, 81).” The primitive Church had to “reconcile the notions they had inherited from Judaism with those they had derived from philosophy.

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”Colossians 2:8 (KJV)

In the Book of Acts, we see people who turned their life for God throwing away their past beliefs, not twisting the truth to justify them. Did you know Catholic means “universal?” The Catholic church was a combination of Greek philosophy, paganism, and the Gospel mixed together to appeal to all Roman citizens, subjecting them to the Roman Catholic State-Church. This church then sought to destroy even the slightest opposition with the fist of the Roman Empire. If you think I’m wrong, look in a history book; it’s right there. It becomes obvious why Constantine supported it so much. He turned the Roman government into a religion–a god.

The Council did triumph over Arianism but only after fifty years of bitter battling.

Yes, it certainly is difficult to burn thousand of books and burn people at the stake. It’s truly disgusting why this has gone virtually unnoticed by so many for so long. This “church” has been driving so many people away from God due to it’s hypocrisy and oppression.

Yes, that was harsh against the Catholic church, but sometimes you have to be. Jesus himself did the same thing with the Pharisees. I’ll probably write more on this subject later.

Research Paper: God, Individuality, and Religous Institutions

In my English class this fall, I wrote a research paper. It got an A, so I guess that it’s pretty good. So, like my earlier paper, I’m posting it online. Hey, why not?

In the modern western world, it has been often thought and told that God is a tyrant who hates individuals. This tyrant wants everyone to be a mindless drone. “On every hand are the enemies of individuality and mental freedom . . . At every turn we run against cherubim and a flaming sword guarding some entrance to the Eden of our desire” (Ingersoll par. 1). These opinions are often backed with examples of the Roman Catholic Church, the Puritans, John Calvin, or others. The advocates of these beliefs often hold the presumption that certain religious institutions and God agree on this matter. However, the Bible, along with other writings, shows how the God of Jesus (Hereby referred to as simply “God’) encourages individuality and why these religious institutions’ views on
individuality show they are separate from God. (more…)

Fin

I just had my last English class this morning. I got a good grade on my research paper, so I will be posting it soon. I’m not done with everything; I still have Macroeconomics to finish. However, I don’t care about that class, so I’m done for the most part.

Now that this semester is over, I’m sure it’s possible that the speed of time flow will accelerate, only to slow down at the beggining of the sping. Since I’m aware of this, I must be prepared to make the most of my time. I will also pray for length of days, which always helps.

Anyway, now that the semester is over I have quite a few things to do:

  • I need to continue maintaining the Quantico Young Marines website I need to get in contact with somebody in order to integrate some database with the website. However, I lost his card and still haven’t been able to get a hold of him.
  • I’m also planning on redesigning the website of my co-worker’s band. You see, the design and usability isn’t appealing–at all.
  • I’ve been wanting to fix up my site for quite awhile now. I want to embed Gallery and Zina into WordPress seamlessly, so the site can have a uniform feel. I also want to set up Horde in order to have my RSS feeds, email, and calendar in one place. I currently use Gmail and the personalized Google home page, which is okay, but not spectacular.

I did some changes during the semester. I switch to WordPress and started transfer my files to a better host. However, I want to finish the changes by the time spring starts. I especially want to finish the hosting transfer, as my term with MySiteSpace ends soon.

  • I also need to do some things outside the internet, of course. My ’96 Toyota Corolla is due for a timing belt replacement. Also, if I ever want to visit friends at Liberty or Appalachian State over a weekend, I need to replace my clutch.

I’ve been procrastinating these two important tasks long enough. I really want to take care of them before it gets any colder outside.

There are other things, of course, but I won’t bother listing them. Anyway, enough of my writing, it’s time for doing.
